Picnics are about sharing plates of yummy food, relaxing and reconnecting in the gorgeous outdoors.

It's not difficult to pack a picnic - many people take food from home to work every day of the week.

At Breakfast on the Bridge we invite you to take part in sharing food with your friends – and even with your fellow picnicking neighbours – who might even do the same back!

This is a special occasion and it's worth taking the time and making an effort to create a picnic to remember. In a busy city we often take less time to think about the importance of food and the joy of cooking so now's your chance.

Shop

All supermarkets and delis have food suitable for picnics. Delis have products like quiche or cakes that are ready made and create containers of marinated products, cold meats, cheeses together with crisp bread and other items.

Ask your favourite shop to help you and tell them where you are going. The following is a list of places which provide some great picnic solutions:

  • Harris Farm
  • David Jones
  • Fratelli Fresh
  • Simmone Logue Foods
  • Woolworths or Coles
  • Paddy's Markets

We recommend Farmers' Markets as they have the freshest local NSW products. Try The Rocks Farmers' Market held every Friday or Eveleigh Market in Redfern on Saturdays.
