What is Breakfast on the Bridge?
Breakfast on the Bridge is the world’s greatest picnic.  In October this year, 6,000 lucky NSW residents will enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime experience on the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge.  

Breakfast on the Bridge is the centerpiece of the Crave Sydney International Food Festival – an annual city-wide celebration, offering 31 days of extraordinary food experiences in unique Sydney locations.  

How can I be a part of Breakfast on the Bridge?

NSW residents will be given equal opportunity to enter the Breakfast on the Bridge ballot. Registrations are now open for all NSW residents.

How many people can have Breakfast on the Bridge?
6,000 lucky people will be able to enjoy this unique experience.  

Do l have to pay to attend the event?
No, Breakfast on the Bridge is free for NSW residents.   

Will I be served breakfast on the bridge?
No, Breakfast on the Bridge is a BYO event.  You are encouraged to bring your own breakfast and a picnic rug.

Event Information

What happens if it rains?
This is an all weather event however you are advised to check the weather report the night before and bring wet weather gear in the event of predicted rainfall, but please do not bring umbrellas.

Can I drive to the event?
The Sydney Harbour Bridge will be closed to all vehicles for the event. Specific details will be advised closer to the event, however it is strongly advised you catch public transport to the event.

Can I attend the event if I am in a wheelchair?
Yes, Breakfast on the Bridge will be wheelchair accessible.  Event participants should register guests in wheelchairs or with other mobility restrictions so that arrangements can be made accordingly.  

What if I miss out, how can I be a part of Breakfast on the Bridge?
The vision for Breakfast on the Bridge is to be an annual event, if you do not secure a Breakfast on the Bridge ticket this year, why not go along to another event in Crave Sydney International Food Festival.  

Who is organising on Breakfast on the Bridge?
The NSW Government through Events NSW is staging Breakfast on the Bridge.

 


 

Ballot Process

How do I enter the draw?  
To enter the draw, visit the website - www.moshtix.com.au/pages/breakfastonthebridge. Registrations are now open and close Sunday 5 September at 11.59pm.

When does the Breakfast on the Bridge draw open?
Registrations open on 15 August 2010; details will appear online and in The Sunday Telegraph.

When does the Breakfast on the Bridge draw close?
The draw closes to NSW residents on Sunday 5 September 2010 at 11.59pm.

Can I register on the day?
No, registrations close at 11.59pm on Sunday 5 September 2010.  

When do I found out if I have been selected to take part in the Breakfast on the Bridge?
If you entered online, you will find out if you have been selected to participate in Breakfast on the Bridge on Tuesday 28 September 2010. Add a few extra days for those people who entered via telephone.  

How many people are chosen?
6,000 people will be randomly selected.  

How many people per draw registration?
You can request up to five tickets per registration, meaning you can register yourself and up to four family members or friends.  

I have a family of 6 (or over) and don’t want to have to leave one of my kids at home. How is this fair?  
Breakfast on the Bridge strives to be fair and equitable to all people. A limit of five tickets per registration has been chosen in the interests of providing the best opportunity to the greatest number of registrants.  

How many times can I enter the draw?
Once.  

What if I win 5 tickets, but 2 people end up being unavailable. What happens to those 2 tickets?
If you are one of the 6,000 lucky people to win tickets to the event, they are yours to keep and distribute to friends and family however you choose.  Breakfast on the Bridge organisers won’t require people to return unused tickets.

What is the situation with children and babies? 
Do each of my children and babies need their own ticket, or is there an age limit when tickets are required? All children and babies, no matter their age, will need to have their own ticket due to limited space on the Sydney Harbour Bridge deck.

Can I change my booking?
No, bookings cannot be changed or cancelled.

If I secure a ticket, can I sell it on to friends or via the internet?
No. You are bound by the terms and conditions of the promotion managed by Nationwide News Pty Ltd (Sunday Telegraph/Daily Telegraph).  

Can I reprint my ticket for my friends and family to join me?
All tickets will have a unique barcode, so that even if the ticket is printed off a number of times, they can only be scanned once.  There will be one ticket for each group of registrants. Travel and arrive with your group.

What if I forget my ticket on the day?
Approach a moshtix staff member on the day.  

Will you be checking tickets on the day?
Yes, tickets will be scanned upon entry to the event.

Can people who are not from NSW enter the draw?
No, the draw is only open to NSW residents; however there are a strictly limited number of packages available for visitors to NSW.

If you do not live in Australia, please contact Tourism NSW via email.
If you live in Australia, but reside outside of NSW, please contact Qantas Holidays on 13 14 15 or your travel agent.  

Do I have to buy a Daily Telegraph newspaper to enter?
No.

Can I enter the draw online?
Yes, you can enter the Breakfast on the Bridge draw by logging onto www.breakfastonthebridge.com.

How else can I enter the draw?
You can enter the draw by calling 1300 825 529 and following the prompts.    

Can I please have a ticket to the event as it would be the perfect place for me to pop the question (or other special request)?
Breakfast on the Bridge strives to be fair and equitable to everyone, which means that all individuals must register for the event for their chance to win tickets. Good luck!  

Is there an age limit for people attending Breakfast on the Bridge?
Breakfast on the Bridge is an all age event. All children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult.

 


 

Event Detail

How do I access the event?
You are strongly recommended to leave the car at home and catch public transport.   

The best way to get to Milsons Point to enter Breakfast on the Bridge is by public transport. For further transport information including train, bus and ferry timetables call the Transport Infoline on 131500 or visit www.131500.com.au.

The pedestrian walkway and cycleway will be open to the public.  

What public transport will be affected by BOB?
Normal Sunday train timetables will run, however there will be changes to bus timetables.  For details, please call the Transport Infoline on 131500 or visit www.131500.com.au.

Can I drive to the event?
You are strongly recommended to leave the car at home and catch public transport. The Sydney Harbour Bridge will be closed to all vehicles for the event.   It is best if you leave your car at home, or at your local train station, and catch public transport to Milsons Point.

How do I get back to the north side of the bridge after the event?
All event participants will exit the bridge to the south.  You can cross back to the north side via the pedestrian walkway, by train from Wynyard Station or by ferry from Circular Quay to Milsons Point.  For further transport information including train, bus and ferry timetables call the Transport Infoline on 131500 or visit www.131500.com.au.

Are there public toilets on the Bridge?  Where will they be?  Will there be disabled toilet?
Public and wheelchair accessible portable toilets will be available at the event.  Event staff will be there to assist you in locating toilets on the day.

Where do I go after the event is over?
All event participants will exit the bridge to the south. You will have the option to enter The Rocks via Observatory Hill or the northern part of the CBD via York Street.

What happens after the event?
The event will conclude at 8.30am, at which time participants will depart and be free to join in other Crave Sydney International Food Festival activities.

When will the Sydney Harbour Bridge Close?

Where can I meet my friends/family?
If you are planning to meet friends for Breakfast on the Bridge, we recommend you meet them prior to arriving in the vicinity of the Harbour Bridge, and away from busy train stations.  This will help to reduce congestion and make it easier to find your friends!

How will I be able to get to the north or south side once the bridge closes?
It is best to avoid travelling from the north or south side of the bridge while the event is taking place where possible.  While the tunnel will be open to traffic, individuals are encouraged to look at alternative routes on the day of the event.

Will I be able to still catch a train over the bridge while Breakfast on the Bridge is on?

What happens if a train breaks down on the Bridge?
